My Christmas blog banner!

I really like the holly flourish stamps Just Johanna has produced...every one of them, and I've USED them all...every one of them (lol). Sakura Glaze pns and Twinkling H2O's provide the colour, Aleene's® Original Tacky Glue® provides the adhesive holding it all together.
I'll use this as my blog banner over the holidays, and take it down next month.

This one was too big for a card, but I really wanted to use it, so I made a banner for my condo front door. After a gentle nudge from Adelle (thanks!), I decided to use it as my blog banner for the Christmas season as well.

I like that it's so bright and cheery

What do you think...really?

Challenges

This little girl is part of this week's Gothic Arch challenge (which is "Sparkling Wings") and the Created by Hand challenge (which is ("Alphabets")

I absolutely LOVED this image, so kindly shared by Audrey (thank you again!) I embossed the wing and arch edges with gold EP mixed with gold AI glitter and added some Swarovski crystals with Aleene's® Original Tacky Glue®.

Stamps are based on Suzanne's beautiful hand calligraphy at Quiet Fire Design.

This will be attached to a gift for a dear friend...whose name, of course, begins with "L!" I LOVE multi-purpose creations! :)

Christmas cards

These are done with Just Johanna's Flourish wreath stamp. This is such a dainty, elegant stamp, I really like it!

I used Sakura Glaze pens, Twinkling H2O's, Fiskars border punch, and Aleene's® Original Tacky Glue®.

This one is for my six year old grandson Morgan. This is another Just Johanna's Christmas flourish image, and it was fun to hang it off a chandelier! I coloured with Tombows, added Stickles for the flames, and All Night Media Clear Glass Finish over parts of the chandelier for a little dimension.

Created by Hand Challenge

This week's Created by Hand challenge is to create art using collage images. I painted a sheet of watercolour paper with Ecoline Inks (# 507 Ultramarine Violet and # 601 Light Green). These wonderful inks are available at Quiet Fire Design, under calligraphy supplies. Then I manipulated this image in Photoshop. Initially I printed it onto a transparency, but because the Ecoline colours are so strong, it was hard to find a place to position it for show. So, I printed it directly onto the dry watercoloured paper with my trusty Hewlett Packard Photo Printer. Then I used sequin waste and pounced Ranger Vintage Photo ink over top, after masking the image. I stamped and embossed the Inque Boutique flourish, and stamped the Gentle Thoughts sentiment stamp with Versafine Black. Finally, I embossed the edges with a concoction I made from gold EP and Art Institute glitter, and glued on the pewter heart and a few Swarovski crystals with Aleene's® Original Tacky Glue®. I REALLY enjoyed creating this piece! Thanks for the challenge!

Just Johanna Stamped Cards

Stamps are all Just Johanna. I used Sakura Glaze pens, Prismacolour Art Markers, Stickles, Art Institute glitters, and Aleene's® Original Tacky Glue®.

This one was such fun to do! It'll go in the mail for my three year old grandson Avery.

I love this holly flourish! I pop-dotted the earth for a little extra dimension. I love using Stickles with these whimsical stamps!

Just Johanna

Okay, it's official, the new Just Johanna design team was announced today, and I'm there!

I am tickled pink to be working with this talented group of stampers, and with Johanna's wonderfully whimsical stamps that have become so popular.

So here are some of my first cards in what I know will be a LONG series.

"Cutesy" and "whimsical" have not ever been defined as my "style," so this is such a GREAT opportunity to stretch and do some different things. I'm so grateful to Johanna for inviting me.

THANKS for stopping by my blog again today. I'm always smiling when I read your comments.

Challenge: 4 X 4 Friday

The challenge over at 4 X 4 Friday this week is red, a great Christmas colour!

For this simple card, I used red velvet paper, a sentiment stamp and a heart flourish stamp from Quiet Fire Design. I stamped he sentiment in Ancient Page Coal Black ink, and embossed the flourish with a twinkly mixture I made by combining Top Boss Gold Embossing Powder with Fools Gold Art Institute Glitter. I added a corner embellishment from Frost Creek Charms (which I painted with black acrylic, then rubbed it off) and two Citrine Swarovski crystals.

Thanks for visiting again!
