Necklace and a story

So most visitors to my blog know that I am blessed with four of the greatest little grandsons in the world! Some of their pictures are actually in my blog header. My three year old grandson Avery loves "baking with Grammie," and his favourite things to bake are "fuffins." (muffins to the rest of the world)

So, during Christmas, when we were baking together, he asked me if he could wear my necklace. It was a sparkly Christmas thing, he likes bling! He wore it all day long, and at bedtime, asked me why little boys can't wear necklaces. I replied that of course, they COULD, and he asked me if he could have one.

So now Avery will have his very own necklace. The stamp is Just Johanna, inked with Ancient Page Archival Dye Ink. The glittered frosting was painted with Tulip® 3-D Fashion Paint™, then coated with Aleene's® Paper Glaze™, tucked into a cheapie dollar store round frame, backed and assembled with Aleene's® Original Tacky Glue®, and beribboned. The reverse of the piece reads "For Grammie's favourite Fuffin."

Grandparenting is, indeed, GRAND!

Thanks for visiting!

How precious is this! I'm a grandmother "Jams" to a wonderful almost 3YO boy. How wonderful for you to transcend sexual stereotypes and make him his own necklace! You go! Oh, and thanks for the blog treat- I just sent an email to you. Lucky me- I love Suzanne's stamps.
I'm home sick today catching up on email.

Your little fuffin is going to treasure this cute necklace:) Being a grandma is so much fun...my 3 constantly keep me laughing. My eldest is 6 years old today! I thought my own kids grew up so quickly, but time is passing at warp speed now, so I'm enjoying every second. Avery is very lucky to have a loving grammie like you:)

How precious...what a fun story about the fuffins...and what a great necklace for your darling...now, I know in the 70's men wore chains...some wore a bit more than others...but men do wear necklaces...
