I've been tagged!

Soooo...what would be the title to your own memoir, if you were to write one? My talented card making friend from Germany, Ilka, has tagged me to disclose mine. Well, I'm afraid that my life is so boring these days that it would not make terribly entertaining reading. However, in the spirit of play, I'll join in.

HERS is "When in doubt, take a bath!" Hey, I LIKE that one!

Mine would be Carpe Diem...Latin for Seize the Day. According to Wikipedia, the most common interpretation of the phrase is as an existential cautionary term with emphasis on making the most of current opportunities because life is short and time is fleeting.

Carpe Diem was the motto of my high school (all those many, many years ago, lol), and it has always been the way I live my life...live, love, play, laugh, just do it now, don't wait!

Journey

This week's Created by Hand challenge is to use Versamark, and this week's Arty Girlz challenge is to use faces. I used an old favourite face stamp of Einstein from Clearsnap, stamped with Ancient Page Coal Black Archival Dye ink on white glossy cardstock. The sentiment and flourish stamps (both from Quietfire Design) were stamped with Versamark and heat-embossed with Top Boss Gold and Black embossing powders.

just three colours. The little baby face stamp is from Tin Can Mail, the daisy stamp is from
Rubber Stampede, and the friendship sentiment is from Stampin' Up. I used Colorbox

Challenges

This week's Saturday's Workout technique challenge is to use paint and the crumpled foil/plastic wrap technique. This week's Arty Girlz challenge was to use paint. I combined both challenges. I painted a small piece of glossy cardstock with Folk Art Metallic Plum acrylic paint and let it dry with crumpled foil on top (weighted down with an old book). Then I cut out the tag shape with a Cuttlebug die, and stamped and embossed with one of Suzanne Cannon's calligraphy stamps from Quietfire Design, outlined the tag with gold metallic ink, then layered it on different cardstocks. The swirly layer was stamped with Quietfire Design Flourishes, using Color Box chalk inks, and finally, I and added some punched flowers with Swarovski crystals in the centre. Created by Hand Challenge

This week's Created by Hand challenge is...wings! I used several different stamps. The sentiment stamp, with Suzanne Cannon's beautiful hand calligraphy, is from Quietfire Design, stamped with Ancient Page Coal Black ink. The paisley is from Impression Obsession. The lace flowers are from Penny Black. The fairy is from All Night Media. I stamped and embossed the paisley and the fairy with Top Boss tinted embossing ink and Top Boss gold embossing powder, then painted them
with Twinkling H2O's, and used fantasy film for the fairy's wings. The fairy's done on an acetate overlay,
the paisleys are pop-dotted for added dimension.

Ismaki Challenge June 2nd.

This week's Ismaki challenge sketch has been very kind to us, THANK YOU for that Manue! I used the sketch along with my new stamp set from Stempleblad in Norway and a favourite image from Quietfire Design. I love these acrylic stamps! I stamped and embossed in gold on white cardstock and on a transparency, then painted with Ruby Red Twinkling H2O, and added some glitter on some of the hearts. I scanned the stamp set for you to see, below my card. They come with six different sentiments, and everything fits together so nicely!
